Brit Hume…”Tiger Woods needs something christianity especially provides”

As Brit Hume states…”Tiger Woods is somebody I’ve always rooted for. … Now we know that the content of his character was not what we thought it was. He is paying a frightful price for these revelations. My sense is that he has basically lost his family. … My sense about Tiger is that he needs something that Christianity, especially, provides and gives and offers. And that is redemption and foregiveness.”

I thought Brit Hume did a fantastic job standing up and not being ashamed or quiet about his faith and what it can do for others.  I was watching live on Fox and could not believe he did not take the “politically correct” stance we see so often on TV.  As he states, the name of Jesus Christ triggers a strong response, like no other religion.  All I can say is Satan is intimidated by Jesus and knows that there is true power in the name of Jesus Christ…that is why he (Satan) triggers such strong responses to those who don’t believe when someone speaks about Jesus Christ.

Back to Tiger…

Woods earns over $100 million dollars a year from his endorsement deals. It is estimated nearly 90% of his income comes from endorsements. But, what brand will be the next to dump Woods, reducing Woods’s value as the highest-paid professional athlete? Gatorade (Pepsi) and Gillette have already phased his ads out, and AT&T is evaluating their next move. Here are the largest sponsors that Woods has deals with by dollar value:

Nike: a $30-million deal
Accenture: a $20-million deal
Gillette: a $15-million deal
Electronic Arts : an $8-million deal

What Tiger Woods and golf stand to lose in 2010 amid the sex scandal and subsequent hiatus:

$180 MILLION IN PERSONAL EARNINGS, INCLUDING:
$110 million in advertising income, if sponsors rebel and dump contracts
$23 million in tournament prize money (roughly the amount he won in his last full season on the PGA Tour and abroad)
$30 million in fees for three golf courses he’s designing, if deals fall through
$17 million in appearance fees (equal to his best year for showing up to play minor events)
$591 MILLION IN INDUSTRY LOSSES, INCLUDING:
$455 million in losses to his Nike-endorsed golf brand, based on estimated 35 percent sales decline
$40 million in lost PGA Tour ticket sales, based on a predicted 25 percent loss at 20 Woods-attended tourneys
$96 million if the Woods-brand EA Sports golf video game goes down the tubes
