libertyuniversityonlineacademy_pic1.jpgMore and more teenagers are beginning to earn their high school diplomas through the internet. In addition, more high school students are also earning college credit during their high school days with dual enrollment programs.  Distance learning is often a great option for students who need to stay home for health reasons, desire to work at their own pace, or find themselves unable to concentrate on their work in the traditional setting. Finding an online high school can be a challenge; many schools make big claims but few live up to their promises. Parents generally have two options for their children: private online schools or public online schools.

Liberty University, is the worlds largest private evangelical university, it’s well respected distance learning program offers high school students the chance to earn their diploma completely from home. Most classes are conducted through the Switched on SchoolHouse CD-ROM and will soon be moved to an internet based forum such as blackboard.  This will increase flexibility for students studying in multiple locations or during travel times.
